Yachtmaster Offshore Instructor, Master V, Coxswain and Workplace Trainer
With over 30 years of sailing and cruising, more than 60,000 sailing miles throughout the Pacific and the east coast of Australia and 15 years as a commercial skipper and sailing trainer/coach Ginny has plenty of knowledge to share …. and a few stories to tell!
As a female coach Ginny really appreciates the challenges that women face when learning to sail. Equally, her years of sail training in Queensland she developed a unique ability to assist couples learning to sail together.
“For me, from the moment I stepped on a yacht I knew that I found my place. Sailing provides so many interesting opportunities and challenges, and the learning never ends. How much we learn and when we learn it is up to us, but the possibilities are amazing: sail trim, helming, rope work, navigation and boat handling. Team work, leadership, planning, weather and vessel management. Its all part of the adventure and depending on our individual goals we can take on as much or as little as we want!
The difference styles of sailing – racing or cruising, fully crewed or short handed – allow for each of us to find our own niche. With EOS Sailing I feel privileged to be sharing some of the knowledge and experience I have gained with others keen to progress their own sailing dreams.”
Quote by John Rousmaniere: The goal is not to sail the boat, but rather to help the boat sail herself.
EOS is an 11.6 metre Farr cruiser/racer. Designed by Bruce Farr as the perfect compromise between the light weight club racer and the comfortable, easy to handle cruising boat. EOS is no show pony, but shows her pedigree with a strong hull, good performance and recently refurbished rigging.
She has extensive coastal cruising miles in her history and has recently made the trip from Queensland and across ‘The Ditch’ to be based in Hobart. EOS is well maintained and has all the cruising gear and creature comforts for the overnight trips with three separate cabins, fridge, well equipped galley, hot and cold pressure water and much more!
