SHAPE YOUR OWN LEARN TO SAIL EXPERIENCE!
At EOS Sailing we are committed to ensure that you get the most out of your Learn to Sail experience. We always contact you by phone to discuss your sailing goals and ensure that we match you with other crew as appropriate. We also want to schedule a time that works for you – so please complete the form below and we will be in touch as soon as possible.
EOS Sailing always offers lots of flexibility to explore individual needs in each sailing experience. Here are some suggested session options – but please share with us your focus and we can tailor a session to suit your needs.
First Timers – Come on a relaxed three hour sail and get a feel for what sailing is all about – no expectation of knowledge or prior experience. This is your chance to have a hands on go at sailing with personalised guidance.
New Club Race Crew – Just joined a boat for local club racing and need to catch up on the skills and lingo to help you be an effective crew? This hands on session is for you – we can fill in the gaps together, get an overview of the all the different crew roles and work on the key manoeuvres like tacking and gybing without the pressure of the race!
Core Skills – For those with some sailing experience – a chance to take a breath without the pressure of club racing or destination sailing. Take a look at the “What we need to do” and “How we need to do it” that makes a boat get from A to B. Its a chance to improve your knowledge and skill in order to make the boat go where we want it to go – effectively!
Sail Trim – Its one thing to follow instructions and “pull or ease that sheet” – another to understand how the sails work and understand what you need to do to optimise the speed and efficiency of the boat. There is plenty of information to read out there about sail trim but practical experience and the chance to play with the sails – feel and see the result is crucial.
Taking Control – Do you have plans of being a skipper – or perhaps you are the skipper in name but want to feel more confident and in control. This is the session for you – planning and executing a journey – whether a day sail or a cruise in the Pacific is all about skill, knowledge and “skipperly thinking”. This is your chance to practice techniques and get hands on experience with the process of being in control of the boat.
